Look east policy will boost Northeast prospects: Rahul

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday stressed on the importance of developing economic ties with Southeast Asian countries under the country’s Look East policy.
Addressing an election rally for Dibrugarh Lok Sabha candidate and Union DoNER minister Paban Singh Ghatowar at Chawalkhowa playground, 7 km from here, the Congress vice president said improved economic relations with Southeast Asia will enhance trade and connectivity in the region and benefit the northeast as a whole. “The Prime Minister is a strong advocate of the Look East Policy and I totally agree with him. The economy of the region will benefit immensely if ties with countries like Thailand and Myanmar are cultivated,” Rahul stated.
