Life as a Hostelite
Ronald Keisham *
Lavishly we live, extravagantly we hail!
Life in hostel it is we shall miss!
So dull by dawn hence so lively by nox;
Who else knows nightlife, than ones who dares!
The memoirs of the timid days shall never fade;
The crucial day of our life, henceforth to be known as hostelite!
The first lectures we attend, sincere as never before;
With great confusions, the anxiety, the pronunciations, yes time it takes!
Days were there, feelings as if we don’t belong;
Yes, time it takes, changes what we are hoping for!
Days come and days goes, feeling secured finding friends;
Friends! its more, do felt like brothers that we never had!
But still had a feeling, still we don’t belong;
Those looks, those glares, and those taunts even the teachers didn’t spare!
Still lavishly we live, extravagantly we hail;
Life in hostel it is, we shall miss!
