Leisure
K. Radhakumar *
I do not work evenings;
I always take rest.
In the evening I usually read
Magazines, fictions and stuff like that.
It is light reading only;
I do not read these works
From cover to cover.
Just sitting in an easy chair,
Sipping my Scotch whisky and soda
And thinking of nothing!
The July issue of Time magazine
On my lap
With Naomi Campbell
My favourite model on the cover!
I close my eyes
And imagine I am an artist:
I hear myself asking Helen of Troy
To pose nude for me.
I am married to a dream
And I hear a charming piece of music
Playing nearby.
Who writes the music
And who writes the words -
The two lovers marry up
And I feel nostalgic
For the place where I was born
And where I grew up.
Why bother your little pretty head
About the origin of the universe
And E = mc2
The most famous equation of the last century!
It is a fair evening
And I enjoy myself at doing nothing.
Life's too short
And I am not bothered about
My place in the cosmos.
