Landslides virtually cut-off Manipur

anipur was virtually disconnected with other parts of the country on surface routes as landslides Saturday cut-off Imphal-Jiribam section of NH-37 (former NH-53) while normal movement of vehicles on the Imphal-Dimapur section of NH-39 has remained disturbed for the last nine consecutive days.
The vehicular movement on the Imphal-Moreh section of the NH-39 was disturbed owing to the bandh called in protest against the burning down of two vehicles plying on this route on July 11 last.
The normal traffic along the Imphal-Jiribam section of the NH-37 was remained suspended following landslides at various places along the stretch of the highway between Makru bridge and New Kaiphundai area in Tamenglong district.
