Land dispute : Tension simmers along Nagaland-Manipur border
Nagaland Post | Dimapur, Jul 29 (NPN)
Land disputes between villages sharing a common boundary between Senapati district in Manipur and Phek in Nagaland, continues to simmer as sporadic incidents have caused considerable tension in the area.
Media reports in Manipur appear to give the impression that villages under Nagaland were violating the sanctity of territorial jurisdictions of the states.
When contacted for confirmation of the incident that allegedly took place over a week ago, DC Phek Nikhase dismissed it as an attempt to create tension through speculations. He told Nagaland Post over phone, that the problem was between Tunjoy and Tunggam, both within Manipur.
