Kukis oppose amendment of village authority act
Nagaland Post | Imphal, Dec 5
Chiefs of over 300 Kuki villages in Manipur Friday resolved to oppose the proposed Manipur Village Authority Act Amendment Bill, alleging that it was in total contrast with the traditional Kuki chieftainship form of village administration.
The resolution to oppose the Amendment Bill was adopted in a meeting of chiefs of several Kuki villages from across the state held today at the auditorium of the Tribal Research Institute, Imphal. The meeting organized by the Kuki Inpi Manipur was attended by around 300 chiefs of major Kuki villages, responding to the call of the Kuki Inpi.
