Prof Shanta Laishram Resource Person :: Khangminashi-V at Ibotonsana Girls' Hr Sec School, Imphal

Kanglei Khongyang Thijinyon (KKT), Imphal, an advanced research centre, is an initiative under the joint collaboration of The Longjam Trust, Khumbong and The Meitram Foundation, Imphal.

The main objective of the centre is to perform high end research in the field of science and technology and to set up a state-of-the-art research facility considering the vast biodiversity in the state.

After a successful conduct of Khangminashi Lecture Series in 2018, the fifth edition of the program was conducted today the 3rd October 2019 at the premises of Ibotonsana Girls’ Hr Sec School, Imphal.

Dr L Jaideva Singh, Director, KKT, Imphal enlightened the audience about the Khangminashi Lecture Series. The sole idea of conducting such programs is to groom the young minds towards a career in Science and Technology. He highlighted the R&D activities taken up by KKT, Imphal.

Mrs N Prempyari Devi, Principal, Ibotonsana Girls’ Hr Sec School, Imphal appreciated the efforts of KKT, Imphal providing a common platform the budding minds and the professionals in the field of Science and Technology.

The Vice-principal of the school, Mrs Y Phajabi Devi instructed the attending 100+ students to take maximum benefit of this program by interacting and putting up queries to the speaker.

Prof Shanta Laishram, Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), New Delhi graced the program as the resource person of the fifth edition of the series.

He led the enthusiastic minds of the audience into the world of mathematics and edified them with beautiful ideas, theories, etc in the area of prime numbers.

He emphasized on various career options available, and also clarified that the only route to a successful career is by having a clear basic understanding of their concerned subject area. He further highlighted the roles of parents in such interaction programs.

The audience was actively involved in the interaction program through a quiz conducted by the Quiz master, Mr Prakashanant Moirangthem.

Teachers of the school appreciated the effort of KKT, Imphal for taking up such a program and also expressed their desire to host similar program in the days to come. The interaction program was concluded with light refreshments.
