Shree Keisham Manihar Singh was born on 1st January, 1937 at Top Khongnangkhong, Imphal East.
Born to Keisham Meidhom Singh and Keisham Ongbi Ibeton Devi, Keisham Manihar Singh left his studies after class 2 because of poverty. Now he is a farmer by profession.
From childhood, he shows keen interest in dance, music and dramas.
At the age of 17, in 1950, Keisham Manihar Singh joined Shumang Leela as an artist.
He learned his acting skill from many of famous Shumang Leela gurus namely Athokpam Iboyaima, Moirangthem Natho, Takhellambam Nabakumar, and Hanjabam Nandakishore Sharma.
He took part in more than 100 plays and gave direction to 20 plays. Manihar Singh was a versatile actor but he was mostly known for his role as a villain.

can be mentioned.
And he was honoured with various Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best Direction award.
In appreciation of his contribution to Manipuri Shumang Leela, Manipur State Shumang Leela Council honoured him with Gojen Award, 2016.
In recognition of his contribution to Manipuri Shumang Leela, Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Imphal awarded him with Natyabhusan(Shumang Leela) title on its 82nd annual conference.
