Kario Isaac Maheo :: Champion of Super Fight League Challenger at Senapati :: 29 September 2012
Thousands of people from all walks of life across the district braved the rain to welcome and felicitate the Super fight league Challengers Champion Mr. A. Kario Isaac Maheo at Senapati ground on September 29 2012. Organised by the District Administration and the Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur(SDOAM), the programme was graced by the five world time champion and the Olympic Bronze medallist MC Mary Kom as the chief guest.
Felicitating the champion, T. Robert Maram, president of SDOAM, lauds Kario as a different person as he has proved differently and that he continue to be different and that he is the path breaker of senapati district. “the people of senapati has been projected as a bad place but this success has proved it otherwise, said L. Markson, president of NPO.
The SFL Champion while addressing the congregation express his gratitude to everyone for their support and prayer. His satisfaction comes from sharing the success with everyone and having mary kom during his final bout and today is one of his greatest moment. His advice to all the youngsters is “if you have a dream or a passion, trust in god. Don’t be afraid to live it. Just go for it”. If somebody like me can do, then why cant you?.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, the five time world champion and the Olympic bronze medallist who is also the brand ambassador of SFL expressed the danger of the game and calls it a real game. Advising kario to keep working hard as this is just the beginning of his career, he has many international future ahead and he should always believe in winning no matter who the is.
"I'm a married women with two kids, if i can win an Olympic medal, why cant you?; was the challenge Mary Kom put up to Kario. Inviting youths to embrace sports, she assures them of all possible assistance in nurturing out the interested boxers into a discipline and refined sportspersons.
Regretting the failure of the government to implement proper facilities for sportsperson, she wish for the government to put their words into action.
Addressing on behalf of the family members, mr. Loli Adanee narrated how Isaac Kario Maheo developed a passion for sports since childhood. His love for sports forced him to leave his job as a cabin crew in jet airways and join the SFL to relinquished his dream.
The programme was also felicitated shri L. Dikho, 48 Mao A/C Contituency, NPO, tribe hoho, town committee, SDSA, SDWA, SKAWA, mount everest college, SDBA, MSU. Encouraging the champion, kario, whose native village is punanamai village was awarded a sum of rs. 1 lakh by the village authority.
Brief Background information on Kario Issac
* Kario born to the late Loly Ashikho and PF Nisa of Karong village, Senapati district.
* He is the second child with an elder sister and three younger briothers.
* He had his primary schooling in Mumbai.
* He completed High School from St Joseph School, Tadubi and graduated in B Com with honours from St Joseph's College, Jakhama, Nagaland.
* From a very tender age, Kario developed a passion for sports and fitness.
* It was at the age of seven that he had his first initiation to Karate when he joined a school in Mumbai for a brief period.
* He got in touch with Daniel Isaac, the pioneer of MMA in India who invited him to their gym in Mumbai.
* Kario was on flight duty when he first visited the MMA gym.

Speaking on the occasion, Kario said that perseverance is the only key to reach one's goal and urged the youths of the state to work hard and never give up to get their goals.
Expressing his satisfaction over the rousing welcome he recieved, Kario said that he has got his satisfaction of winning the first ever championship of India after seeing the love and affection from the crowd in today's function.
He further said that one should never take the hurdles and inconveniences faced in the path of success. It is only after facing such situation bravely that one succeed in acomplishing his dreams.

Mention may be made that Isaac Kario won the first season of the first mixed martial arts reality show which was participated by eight male and eight female fighters from different parts of India. Born to late Loli Ashiiko from Karong under Senapati district, Kario is a B Com graduate. He used to be an employee of Jet Airways before he quit his job to participate in the competition.
After rigourous training for wo years, Kario participated in the competition and won the champion's title.
