Joint Indo Myanmar Cleanliness Drive on Indo-Myanmar Border
Adding yet another feather in the quest of synchronizing all agenesis at Border Town Moreh, 11 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) alongwith Myanmar Army and Civil Administration of both the countries, organized cleanliness drive on Indo-Myanmar Border between BP 77 and Namphalon market on 27 Jan 2018.
A total of 112 Indian civilians and 107 Myanmarese nationals took part in this cleanliness drive. Two JCB each and three Tippers from Myanmar were also pressed into service in the cleanliness drive. It was given boost by overwhelming participation of all Civil Society Organisations of Moreh and Namphalon.
Commandant of 11 Assam Rifles, Commanding Officer of 89 IR Myanmar Army, DC of Tamu, ADC of Tamu, Police Major of Namphalon, reps of Namphalon Bazar Committee, ADC of Moreh, AC of Moreh, SDC of Moreh and SDPO of Moreh were in attendance.

The civilians were also briefed regarding the importance of cleanliness and mutual cooperation between two neighbouring countries. They were also advised to throw the waste only in dustbins and earmarked pits which should be regularly cleaned and regulated.
The event was the second such initiative at Moreh border by military as well as by civil agencies of both nations after it cleanliness drive held on 19 Jan 2018. It was a huge success and has been a major milestone in mutual and joint efforts put in by both nations for betterment of relations as well as for benefit of its people.

The initiative was well received and appreciated by the locals of both sides of Indo-Myanmar Border as well as civil administration.
The enthusiasm and cooperation offered by Namphalon Bazar Committee needs special mention as they offered tea and snacks to all during the cleanliness drive. The event concluded after thanksgiving by Commandant, 11 Assam Rifles to all the participants of both nations.
