Jessami village council responds to Meluri village council (MVC)
Nagaland Post | Dimapur, May 3
The Jessami village council (JVC) Wednesday claimed that people of Jessami did not in any way violated the peace process, saying they have repeatedly affirmed their sincere stand towards a lasting solution between Meluri and Jessami. In a statement, the JVC chairman Ayete Wezah and secretary Nipekhew Lohe said accordingly they have “refrained from any activities” that might derail the peace process.
Maintaining that peace and permanent solution cannot be achieved without “utmost commitment, sincerity and sacrifice,” the JVC said so far no traveller from Meluri village was harassed or harmed by Jessami villagers.
Further, claiming that situation was “completely under control” by the Jessami village council in light of the proposed peace talk initiated by PPF and TNL, the JVC however regretted “if the present situation has caused trouble and inconvenience to any travellers across Jessami village.”
