Border row: Jessami Village Council (JVC) terms Meluri Village Council (MVC) contention false
Nagaland Post | Dimapur, May 30 (NPN)
In a rejoinder, JVC chairman Ayete Wezah and secretary Nipekhwe Lohe said that the people of Jessami had “never misguided Pochury Public Forum (PPF) and Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL)” by erecting any boundary stone anywhere in the Thechü river.
JVC claimed that “documents” showed ‘Linobu’, a land depression towards Thechü river from Tevuno as the boundary between Meluri and Jessami and the need to erect any recent stone boundary “did not arise”.
JVC asserted that the ‘yongchak’ farm at Tevunori which Meluri people slashed was an old wet terrace field of their “forefathers” and claimed that no Meluri people have ever claimed the location in the past.
