Irabot Day Observation : Essay Writing Competition and Lecture

Manipur Students' Association Delhi is commemorating the birth anniversary of Hijam Irabot (1891-1896) in Delhi. Hijam Irabot was a pioneer in Manipur in the fields of sports, journalism, theatre art, reforms and freedom movements.
The Indian State had released a postal stamp in his name and the government of Manipur has listed Irabot Day in the holiday list.
In Delhi MSAD has been orgaising Irabot Day Observation annually.
The programme this year is being scheduled for 28th September and to be marked by essay writing competitiion, floral tribute, lecture and discussion.

CASH PRIZE to the first three winners and CERTIFICATE to all participants
The first three winner essays will be published in the annual publications.
OPEN TO MANIPUR STUDENTS IN DELHI
Topic: “True nationalists cannot be the toy of the imperialists. True nationalism is sovereignty; the sovereignty of a nation cannot be destruction of the sovereignty of another nation.” The statement is an excerpt from Capitalism by Hijam Irabot (30 September 1896- 26 September 1951). Please read the Comrade Irabot and Capitalism and assess in your own words (minimum 1200 words) the relevance of the statement in the present context of Manipur.
