Insomnia
Moirangthem Minakshi Devi *
As I lie awake on a sleepless night,
Thoughts of future makes me fright.
As I look towards the moon white and bright,
An albescent beam soothes my sight.
While I close my eyes trying to sleep again,
Memories of a dear one gives me bitter pain.
As the clock keeps ticking and the bed disquieting,
Snippets of the past make the night horrifying.
While comfort and serenity is at stake,
The lone choice remains to stay awake.
As darkness drifts away and light takes over,
A beam of hope and grace kisses the sight.
In comes a new day and marks the end of
Yet another pathetic sleepless night.
