Impressive presence of NE filmmakers at IFFI 2014

Filmmakers and critics from Northeast made their presence felt at the 45th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) here at Panaji, Goa even as “Focus: North-East, Tales of Women” was inaugurated Sunday at a simple yet impressive function opened by festival director Shankar Mohan along with Assamese film director Jahnu Barua, Manipuri film director Oinam Gautam and filmmaker and critic Utpal Borpujari.
NE filmmakers make their point: Other films noteworthy films in the theme include national award winner “Phijigee Mani” (2011) by Manipur filmmaker Oinam Gautam who is also IFFI jury member of feature films. The focus series also had one more Manipuri film – Sanabi (1994) directed by ace filmmaker Aribam Syam Sharma.
