Seven Sisters Post | Yumnam Rupachandra | Imphal (July 1):
With doctor–patient relationship at its nadir, doctors in Manipur on Sunday pledged to take on the issue head on. Observing the “Doctors Day” at Indian Medical Association (IMA), Manipur chapter office at Lamphel, President Dr Palin said the doctors were concerned at deteriorating relationship between patients and doctors.
He said the IMA, Manipur chapter will be organising a series of discussions to remove the misunderstanding and trust deficit that has cropped up between the doctors and their patients. He also said it was time for the doctors to consult their seniors and take their advices on how to handle the issue.
The step comes in the backdrop of a stern warning from one of the armed opposition group the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Prepak).
