I swear
Angomcha Chingkhei Meitei *
When I wake up,
Before putting down my feet on the Earth,
Chalked out many plans for the day,
I swear to use every single minute,
Smiling; with reloaded mind, touch the earth,
With the forefinger, back to my forehead.
Before I close my eyes for the day,
Lying flat on the bed,
Recollect all the deeds for the day,
Eight out of ten still remain pending,
I swear to fulfill all the next day,
Touched the pillow with my forehead and sleep.
My father taught me this practice,
When I was coping with A B C...,
Now teaching the same to my son,
The then, I asked many questions,
Now, replying the same to my son,
I believe in my father, my son does the same.
I am coping with my last breathe,
Many well wishers around,
Hiding their tears to me,
In my mind, am still counting the deeds,
I swear to fulfill in my next beginning,
Close my eyes, ignoring their wake up calls.
