I call it life
Debina Sanasam *
When night falls in the heart
Darkness engulfing the soul
Breaking down to the core
A single star lits itself
Twinkling in a lone sky
Urging not to lose the light
They called the simmering ray hope
I call it belief
Like the first shower of rain
A bond so beautiful
Flowers of the most beautiful garden
Offering the sweetest of life
Basking with you always
Be it praises or be it flaws
They called the magical bond friendship
I call it cherishment
A nightmare in the dark
Wrenching out an inner cry
Hands groping the stillness
That fastens the reins of the heart
Like bruises in the open
Tears like salt to the wound
They called the stinging reality pain
I call it penance
Just like the verses of the choir
On an early sunday morning
A bright beautiful ray
Peeking out from behind dark clouds
First shiver of the heart
But the warmth of a lifetime
They called the unknown feeling love
I call it trust
When the rays play hide and seek
Bading farewell to the dark
The promise of a fragile heart
To walk firmly the miles ahead
Sometimes the hueful rainbow
Other times the endless blues
They called the unpredictable journey living
I call it life.
