IGAR (south) meets Chief Minister to convey New Year Wishes
Major General Virendra Singh, VSM, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) on Tuesday called on the Chief Minister at his office and on behalf of all the personnel of Assam Rifles conveyed greetings and goodwill to the people of Manipur for the new year.
During the interaction, the security situation in the state was also discussed. General Virendra Singh, VSM briefed the Chief Minister about the security situation along the borders in the State and informed him about the various developmental and welfare activities undertaken by the Assam Rifles in the border areas and further plans to support the local communities in their daily functioning.
Chief Minister and IG also discussed several inter-related internal-external security management issues and the steps required to be taken for more effectively dealing with insurgent activities and ensuring the safety of all in the state. In the end, the General Officer reiterated the commitment of Assam Rifles in ensuring peace and secure in the state.
