Hopes of solution with NSCN-IM
The Telegraph | Nishit Dholabhai | Kohima, May 21:
The Centre will first hammer out a solution with NSCN (Isak-Muivah) and then bring other Naga groups into the loop.
“We are likely to have a solution with the NSCN (I-M) in the near future and other groups will be asked to respond to it. R.S. Pandey (interlocutor) is talking to NSCN (I-M) leaders,” a senior government official said today.
These views should soften the speculation rife over the past few months that talks with the rebel outfit were on the brink of failure. Asked if the government was in favour of reconciliation among rebel outfits, the official said it depended on the terms of reference of the reconciliation. “It should not be on the basis of contentious issues and has to be within a framework.”
