- Eyewitness recounts horror of watching forces executing youths in 2008

Rev. Prim Vaiphei, his wife and teenage daughter could not sleep for days after witnessing the "execution" of two youths by security forces at a mobile checkgate in Bishnupur district during the height of counter-insurgency operations in Manipur in 2008.
"The two youths were stopped by security forces for checking and shot in front of the passengers of a truck, including my family. The youths were travelling in the truck and were shot dead in front of all of us after a pistol was recovered from them," Vaiphei, president of the All Manipur Christian Organisation, recalled.
Vaiphei was not making a political statement. He was holding a prayer session during the 8th foundation day of the Extrajudicial Execution Victims Families Association here today.
