It is lunch time for Olympic Games qualifier M.C. Mary Kom at her quarters and the aroma of dog meat and boiled vegetables emanates from the kitchen as her husband supervises the meal.
Savouring a 10-day break at home before she joins the boxing training sessions either in Pune or Patilala, Mary Kom hopes to eat all the delicious ethnic food she can before plunging into her hectic schedule again. The five-time world boxing champion is gunning for gold.
Mary Kom qualified for the London Olympics, becoming the only Indian woman boxer to qualify for the Olympics, though she lost in the quarterfinals in the just-concluded World Championship held in China.
