History's Peals of Laughter - III
Jodha Chandra Sanasam *
O History, tell you what:
back off, stay away;
your hands now shall not touch
destroy our land to ruins.
We have known you enough
we are here now,
to stand undeterred and fearless ever
to safeguard our land with truth, virtue, beauty, love
the elements of humanity essential
honesty fraternity integrity
the elements of civility fragrant.
You, wicked History!
Today I want to castigate you
back off,
stay away;
we abhor the smell
emanated from your heart of evil intent
and from your peals of laughter brittle and sarcastic!
A soul like mine
I know you will have no interest in
if my deprecation of your filthy nature
weaves swathing rage around you
come History, get my body bullet-ridden
or do you want it blasted with an explosive
or finish it with some fake-encounter shots
or bring the curses of history makers upon me?
I will not mind any longer
'cause I have said what I want to
the truth of my own conscience
and there is none to blame except you
for what my land is in now.
You will no longer be the impudent braggadocio,
for we will smother over time
your peals of laughter brittle and sarcastic.
