Hair stylist as career option

In our last edition we had published details related to career options related to hair style or how one can become hair stylist. In this edition, we are publishing more about hair stylist as career option.
Interested young people may become hair stylist or hair dresser for which they need some training. The best part is any one with less academic qualification may also become an expert in this profession. At present there are many skill training centre which provides free training with placement assurance.
There are paid courses available but interested may start with skill training courses and later they may choose to take admission in advance courses. These centres are available in different parts of the country. Leading chain of beauty parlours also conducts training and courses for hair dressers.
All professions have some specific skills and characteristic traits that are absolutely necessary to have in order to ensure success. The hairdressing profession is one of those fields that have these types of requirements.
For a hairdresser, some of the qualities, knowledge, and skills necessary for success are -interpersonal skills, love of learning, patience/tolerance, problem solving skills, self-confidence, endurance, creativity, time management skills, stress-management, scent and chemical tolerance, marketing skills, business management skills and also skills related to basic first aid .
To be successful in this profession is not so difficult if aspirants possess all required skills. Individuals may start their own venture or join others and start their career. Some independently working experts may also take up assignment as there are many occasions in our society.
Whether fashion shows or marriages, individuals are keen to style their hairs and it brings demands for the hair stylist. There is a need to change the attitude of the people as many do not want to join this profession.
Instead of searching for jobs which is a mere dream creative and hard working young people may try a take up this profession and start their own venture in Manipur and other parts of North East . Change in the attitude shall help many young people to be self employed with this profession.

The key objective of the scheme is to provide support and encouragement to specially-abled children to pursue technical education. Last date 10th October
AICTE Pragati Scholarship: AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls 2018-19 invites applications from girl students studying in 1st-year technical diploma/degree programme from an AICTE approved college/institution in the current academic year. The scholarship scheme aims to empower young girls with knowledge, skills and self-confidence so that they could contribute to the development process. Last date is 10th October.
