Govt firm on protecting indigenous people : Biren

Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh Thursday reaffirmed BJP-led coalition government’s stand on protection of indigenous people of the state.
Talking on the sideline of a party (BJP) function, Singh said protecting the indigenous populace was the foremost duty of the BJP-led government. “My government never diverted the ILPS (Inner Line Permit System) issue. Government is working to find out ways on how the indigenous people can be protected without hurting the sentiment of each other.”
To live in harmony among the different communities in the interest of state integrity was also another bounden duty of the government, he added.
