Good Times around the Corner
K. Radhakumar *
'The story is about you.' - Horace
I do not wake every morning
At about the same time
And this morning when I wake up
With a terrible hangover
It is late in the morning.
Health!
To be in the best of health.
Yes, to be in the best of health.
Before I am prepared to die well –
As things are, the end of life will come
From nowhere and in no time.
Green leaves turn yellow
And fall in autumn.
Time has its own philosophy.
It remains a mere philosophy,
A paper tiger;
With me, time never presses.
A relaxed pace of life!
I dream of spring
Late in the autumn –
Winter stands shivering with cold
On the doorstep.
There are good times around the corner
There are good times around the corner
There are good times around the corner
And I am at the door to welcome you.
What a morning!
What a terrible hangover!
