Awareness-program on Gender Based Violence and climate change
Women Action for Development (WAD), IRDC, SYWA, Fish Seller SHG and Meira Paibi, Sunushiphai organized one day awareness-program on Gender Based Violence and climate change at Shimusiphai under Bishnupur District — on 06th December, 2021 in connection with international Fortnight Observation Protesting Violence against women 2021 under the Theme: "Orange the world: End Violence against Women Now!"
From 25th November, the International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women, until 10th December, Human Rights Day, people's and organizations around the world will be taking action for the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence led by UN Women, the 16 Days campaign highlights inequalities faced by a significant proportion of the world's population, and not least an issue that impacts at least 200 million women worldwide.
Sobita Mangsatabam, Secretary WAD and Convener Women Committee imphal East; United NGOs Mission Manipur (UNMM), Ms. Prijadarshini Gangte Associate Prof Department of History, S.K Women College Nambol and Maisnam Kalanjoy Singh, Project Manager Centre for Social Development Manipur attended the program as resource persons.
Sobita Mangsatabam, Convener Women Committee Imphal East, United NGOs Mission Manipur spoke on gender based violence being faced by the women & girls and its impact to the society. Ms. Priyadarshini Gangte, Associate Prof. Department of History, S.K. Women College Nambol spoke on Violence against Women and its solution from academic perspective and Mr. Kalanjoy, spoke on the Impact of climate change to women during the one day awareness prog am.

Appeal to the State Government:
1. Complete trials of all the pending cases of Crine against women and children.
2. Install DNA machine immediately.
3. Court must speed up women related cases.
4. Stop supporting the culprits of CAW (Crime against women and children).
5. Provide compensation timely to rape victims.
6. Include gender education and syllabus in School, College and University.
A series of poster campaigns on Violence against Women (VAW) was carried out at various parts of Manipur including Sangang, Churachanpur District; Thoubal District; Kakching District; Kasom, Kamjong District & Imphal East in connection with .16 days of Activism against gender based violence.
