The Rongmei Phwam Delhi (Rongmei Council Delhi NCR) would like to congratulate Mr. Gaihutlung Panmei (S/O Mr.& Ms. Chunlhailung Panmei & Pougenglu Panmei) for winning the Gold Medal on 24th June, 2023 at the Asian-Pacific-African Classic Powerlifting Championship 2023 in the 53kg sub-junior men's category in the ongoing 2023 Asia-Pacific- African Equipped Powerlifting and Bench Press Championships at Queen Elizabeth stadium, Hong Kong. He is from a very humble family from Pongringlong Village, Saitu Gamphazol, Senapati District, Manipur, India.
Some of his achievements:
1. Gold Medalist in the Asian-Pacific-African Classic Powerlifting Championship 2023 in the 53kg sub-junior men's category at Queen Elizabeth Stadium, Hong kong on 24th June, 2023 (Event: 24th -30th June, 2023; 2023 Asia-Pacific-African Equipped Powerlifting and Bench Press Championships).
2. Bronze medalist in the National Sub-Junior & Junior Classic Powerlifting Championship 2022 in the 53kg sub-junior men's category at Kanhangad, Kasaragod, Kerala, India. [Event: 10-08-2022 to 14-08-2022]
3. He won the 53 kg category gold in the junior boys category at the 12th State Level Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior and Master Men and Women Powerlifting Championship 2022 which was held on 1st October, 2022 at Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai under the aegis of All Manipur Powerlifting Association.
4. 5th Place Award- Secured top five places in the junior men's 55 kg category competition at the 60th Mr. Manipur State Level Bodybuilding Championship organized by All Manipur Body Builders Association Manipur at BOAT, Palace Compound, Imphal, Manipur, India on 4th December 2022.
His determination and confidence counts for his success! He has made the impossible possible in his 'never give up' style. Once again big congratulations to Mr. Gaihutlung Panmei and his team who have made it this far.
It is a proud moment for the nation India, a proud moment for all the sports loving people, a proud moment for the people of Manipur, a proud moment for the people of Naga and a proud moment for the people of Rongmei Tribe. May all his sweet successes lead to greater achievements in the years to come.
