Frisking exercise intensifies along Manipur borders
Morung Express | Newmai News Network | Imphal | September 17
As apprehension of Rohingya people entering Manipur rises, the State government has been taking up all possible measures to address the issue. Manipur police personnel, Assam Rifles and other security agencies are carrying out intense vigil along Manipur-Myanmar border areas, and also along Jiribam areas bordering Silchar in Assam. These security forces are carrying out massive drives identifying people by checking their identity cards and other related documents, according to reports.
Ever since the Rohingya issue cropped up in neighbouring Myanmar, security forces have been exercising extra measures of frisking people in all the entry points in Moreh area of Tengnoupal district bordering Myanmar.
