Ask yourself are Meitei the sole origin for all your problems

The moment central government decided to sanitize NH-39, and people of Manipur, resolved to develop NH-53, so that we don't have to depend our life solely on unreliable, NH-39. It was expected, that some venom spitting hydra headed elements will raise their head from somewhere to stall the development process.

There they are.

ZSUTD, ZYF, NYF, have no right to impose its will at the decision of the Govt of Manipur, when it has decided to take up the maintenance of NH-53.

Simply because part of the highway falls under jurisdiction of Govt of Manipur . And the Govt is not required to take permissions from these organisations. The decision was taken after several deliberations and taking into account the plight, people went through, in those 60 odd days, of blockade.

If the Govt don't live up to its promise and fail in its duties towards maintaining of the highway, then people of Manipur from every community and from every walks of life including Zeliangrong group, can question the Govt. However it's fair to give state Govt a chance to deliver its promise. Considering the importance and gravity of maintaining the so called NH53.

And the Govt is fully aware of the fact that every body is watching them. Justification given by, ZSUTD, ZYF, is shallow and is full of rhetorics, first of all they have tried linking tribal right and highway development project out of nowhere.

A very interesting and at the same time confusing, allegation was also made to the Govt. of Manipur; "that it's an attempt to confuse and divide tribal people". How? By handing over the job to state PWD department from BRTF. Will you all please enlighten us further? Or substantiate your claim.

The statement also claims that incursion to the land belongs to Naga will not be tolerated. Any ways, who is trying to take away land from you all? As per the statement, state PWD has done a shoddy job in Maram-Kangpokpi road, if the association feels it's unfair then, why have they woken up just now?

If the founding stone of democracy is build on, people electing their own representative, to represent their interest, then why don't thse people first impose the same question to their own elected member who are also part of the state assembly, instead of bypassing them and throwing accusation at the state government, laced with communal tone that too at this hour.

Why is it so difficult for them to understand, that irrespective of wherever we come from within the state, there is someone representing us in the State Assembly, this too implies for people in Tamenglong district, if in his /her presence basic right such as having a jeepable road in this 21st centaury is been ignored, then he/ she is simply not doing enough, or failed.

In this case it is not the failure "in their words, Meetei led govt" alone. Naga MLAs plays equal part to it. And there is nothing communal about it.

Why are they searching for lame excuses? Or is it a joke? It is not so difficult for one to come up with reasons, as to why these organizations are so oppose to handing over the job to State PWD? But let's put a stop to it and move on.

ZSTUD, ZYF, NYF raising its collective head at the right time and the right place don't surprise us. After having fully aware of the miseries that people endured in two month long blockade, threatening with another blockade at the lone life line of Manipur, will have to be considered as a direct provocation to Meiteis, so far its people have shown restraint but it should not be misinterpret, as a sign of weakness.

There is a limit to tolerance. There are enough people who want us to fight amongst each other, burn each other house, damage relationship beyond repair, and take us to where reconciliation is impossible. Is that we all really want? It's not so difficult to imagine the damage it could bring.

While everyone has equal right but there are means to attain this right, let's explore ways how this can be achieved. Think of it with calm mind, but before that remove the word "Meitei" and all the bias-ness you associate with it, ask this question, "Are Meiteis the origin of your entire problem?"

But be true to yourself while answering the same. Or is it that you need to look little deeper within, and see if community as a whole has done enough for its own future, for its own people, things that one is expected to carry out as responsibility, without looking out for any external help.

Or are you all still searching for a culprit to blame, for what you all don't have and has got nothing to with others?

ZSTUD, NYF, ZYF, call for indefinite blockade could well turn out to be the last nail in the coffin. I just hope wisdom prevail.
