Flood relief continue on the third day on 15 June 2018
Demonstrating tireless energy and commitment to serve the people of Manipur, troops of 9 Sector Assam Rifles continued with their relentless flood relief operations on the third day.
Flood Relief column of Tulihal Battalion continued with provision of emergency rations and drinking water in affected areas of Lilong Chajing Karam, Samurou Makha Leikai and Uchiwa which were worst affected by floods.
Troops including Engineer team of 52 Engineer Regiment are also providing assistance to the local council in repairing the breach at Irong. The medical team of the unit continued with its efforts to alleviate the hardship of the locals.
The medical team visited the flood hit villages of Lilong Chajing Karam, Samrau Haorebi and Uchiwa and provided medication to about 350 people in the flood affected areas.
At Patsoi the troops of the unit assisted the locals with embankment strengthening at vulnerable stretches astride Maklang Turel in Ngairaingbam village. Insecticide spraying was also carried out in approximately 30 houses in Ngairaingbam village which were water logged to help check the increased mosquito menace in the area.

Troops of Keithelmanbi Battalion distributed cooked food to more than 500 displaced persond at Arapati. 45 stranded persons were rescued at Kiyamgei in general area to the East of Lilong.
The remarkable commitment displayed by Assam Rifles troops in times of need has been hailed by one and all. It has truly showcased the allegiance of the force to the citizens of the State.
