First Cry
Herojit Philem *
Entering the world
Little innocent child cried
Though tears falling not.
Crying baby came
From womb abode; carrying love
To attend his tomb.
Struggling mother, in gestation
Loved and is still loving
Each cries and croons made her glad.
Tearless cry filled eyes
Water of affection falls
Drop by drop from lips.
Parents' affectionate wine
Silently and slowly drunk
Liquidless innocuous tear.
