FEGOCTA to resume academic activities
Date - 8th September 2020 ; Federation of Govt College Teachers' Assn
Federation of Government College Teachers’ Associations (FEGOCTA), Manipur resumes the online classes and other academic activities.
It was decided after the joint meeting on the 6th September by Manipur Government Services’ Federation (MGSF), FEGOCTA, MSSA and other government employees’ associations.
The decision to exempt the government colleges from the joint agitations was taken in the interest of the students in consideration of the upcoming 6th Semester B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. etc. examinations scheduled from 18th September, 2020 and the recent ruling of the Hon’ble Supreme Court on the examinations.
However, FEGOCTA will rejoin the agitations after the completion of 6th Semester Examinations for resolving 7th pay issues and the common interest of the employees.
There is progress for the Orders of 7th UGC Pay and Regulations, 2018. This mater is learnt after the meeting the Hon’ble Education Minister and the Commissioner of Higher Education.
It appeals for the issue of the Orders at the earliest. FEGOCTA is concerned about safety and health of the students, teachers and non-teaching staff after the opening of the Colleges from 9th September.
Government of Manipur and Manipur University should ensure awareness about the changes in the examination rules including for fifty marks, guidelines in the examination centres and Covid-19 protocols through media to the students and parents.
