Expression of gratitude to the Hon'ble CM, Manipur
Delhi, Aug 01, 2013:
The All India Tribal Students’ Association, (AITSA) and the Mongoloid Peoples Forum, Delhi, express its gratitude to Pu Okram Obibi, the Hon’ble Chief Minister, of Manipur for his thoughtful and encompassing decision to uphold the principle of “just and fairness” in the appointment of Pu P.C.Lamkunga as the Chief Secretary of the state. When the state is grilling for restoring its peaceful cohesion after the merger treaty, such noble decision is indeed laudable.
Most of the Northeast state government seems unaware about the emotions of those government officers including in the Arm forces, who were not able to get their due in the matter of promotion and posting in the mainland.
As the principle of the “Sons of the Soil” is a universal convention, practice all over the world in deciding crucial issues, the Government of Manipur has rightly taken the decision, without depriving or unduly favouring anyone. The noble decision of the government is natural and praiseworthy to all the right thinking people of the state.
The sensible decision of the government will also definitely enhance the morale of the “Sons of the soil” government servants of the state.
The Association hopes and wishes Pu P.C Lawmkunga to discharge his duties impeccably as the Chief Secretary of the state. A time has come to cross beyond our ethnic boundaries and discharge our official duties as a government servant and not as member of a particular community or handy men of political parties.
