Effects of a Sleepless Night
K. Radhakumar *
I feel imprisoned in my own home –
I want to live!
I want to live!
What a nasty feeling!
The dark night
Did not wake to
A sunny morning
I am pretty sure about it.
My boyhood dream was sweet;
It was not about
The hard life I’ve had.
I woke to a different world.
A boy
Who lived his dreams
Came looking for one
Grown in size
Before it was dark.
The two passed across each other.
The boy was no longer a boy .
Was he already a man, then?
No, net yet.
The man had to discover
What he really wanted out of life.
Say what you like,
The sun is a brave soul
In the morning of life.
Oh, my brave friend!
Rise, rise in the east.
Oh, do not worry about
Setting in the west.
When the time comes
Say I'm dying
And let me be.
