16. Contribution made towards Child Welfare activities .

(i) City-Actively involved in the promotion of breast feeding, Essential Newborn care, Immunization particularly PPI and Asthma care. Instrumental in establishing Asthma. Clinic and Level II Care Nursery at RIMS and in-charge of ART Centre, RIMS & Asthma Clinic.
(ii) State - Regularly contributing programs on common childhood diseases and Pediatric HIV/AIDS in Doordarshan Kendra, Imphal and All India Radio, Imphal. Actively involved in the prevention and care of HIV infection in children through training on health workers and empowering families and mobilizing community resources in Home and community care.
(iii) National level - Contributed as a resource person and as member of the expert committee of various training of the trainers programs and state and National programs on HIV/AIDS and PMTCT ,RCH programs including NRHM.
(iv) Member of the Educational Support Group for Children with HIV/AIDS in Manipur.

17. Summary of highlights of the outstanding contributions made in the fields of child Health, Pediatric Research, Education, Welfare activities and organizational work.

a) Child health - Has been actively serving the children of Manipur through rural health camps, organized by Rotary Club, Lions Club, IMA, IAP and many other Voluntary Organizations. Regularly contributing programs on common childhood diseases in Doordarshan Kendra, Imphal and All India Radio, Imphal

b) Pediatric Research - Pioneer in the field of HIV/AIDS research, Poisoning in children, Childhood leukemia and Tuberculous Meningitis(TBM) and Malaria in Children and Congenital malformations at birth in Manipur.

c) Education - A teacher in RIMS since 1982 and contributed to the teaching of undergraduates and postgraduates and contributed by imparting knowledge to medical students through didactic lectures, seminars, CMEs etc. and imparting training to faculty members of RIMS through teachers training program.

d) Welfare activities - Actively involved in the care and support of HIV infected and affected children in Manipur and pleaded for the cause of these unfortunate children and families affected by the HIV epidemic in Manipur particularly the problem of orphans through various Govt, and Non - governmental organizations.

e) Organizational work- Organized number of Regional, State Level CMEs, Workshops on Common childhood diseases and conditions and also Health camps for the HIV affected children at different Children Homes in Manipur. Instrumental in establishing IAP, Manipur State branch, Infectious disease Chapter, IAP, Manipur state Branch.
