Delhi to Dhaka: Probe UNLF
The Telegraph | Pankaj Sarma | Guwahati, March 25:
India has moved Bangladesh with a request to track financial assets belonging to the Manipur-based insurgent outfit, the United National Liberation Front (UNLF), in that country.
An official source told The Telegraph that investigating agencies had evidence to suggest that UNLF chief R.K. Meghen had amassed assets in the neighbouring country with money extorted from Manipur.
“Bangladesh was asked to conduct a probe to identify the financial resources built by the UNLF chief out of proceeds of terrorism,” the source said. He said a response from Bangladesh government was awaited.
