The Death of Pravish Chanam: Found no Investigation by CBI instead the Local Police of GautamBudh Nagar who are suspicious to have been involved in the suspicious death of Pravish Chanam
Youth’s Forum for Protection of Human Rights (YFPHR) deeply regret to inform the people of Manipur that besides the assurance given by the Chief Minister of Manipur through the Media that the PravishChanam’s matter has been handed over to the CBI there is no sign of any investigation initiated by the CBI instead the direction made by the Department of Personnel and Training, New Delhi was rejected by the CBI, SCB, Lucknow on the ground that “the UP state police is well equipped and has professionally trained STF, SBCID and other specialized branch to either assist or undertake the investigation of better professional management of investigation. Hence, the case was not found suitable to be taken up for investigation by CBI and the decision of Government of India has also been communicated to the Chief Secretary of Government of UP” as learned from the communication letter sent to Ms. RK Shanahanbi, President, KangleiImaLup by the Supdt. of Police, CBI, SCB, Lucknowdated 20/09/2018 (Annexure-I).
It has been 1 year and one moth passed no justice could be delivered to the deceased soul and his family members and not a single person has been booked in connection with the death of PravishChanam. It is clearly indicated that the effort made by the government of Manipur to deliver justice is uttered neglected by the Central Government and the Government of UP.
The attitude towards the people of North East by the Central Government and the mainland India is clear that the people of North East are the second class citizen with regard to the discrimination and negligence is concern.
We appeal the Government of Manipur and the people of Manipur to take a firm stand to fight for justice against the discrimination being committed by the Central Government and the Mainland India towards the North East People.
YFPHR, would like to further appeal the people of Manipur to join the people’s movement for justice for PravishChanam and discrimination against the north east people.
