Cry Of A Dying River - 6
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that holds no gun
In this age of gun and guncracy
The river that keeps no grenade
In an age and place where grenades are abound
The river that causes no bomb blast
In a land where bomb blasts are order of the day
The river that imposes no bandh blockade
In the land-locked land where blockades are used as political instruments
The river that listens to the sound of silence and suffering.
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that is not unaware of politics
The politics of hatred mistrust and enmity
The river that is not unconscious of politics
The politics of militarisation and militarisation of politics
The river that is not unmindful of politics
The politics of 'grab what you can and let others go to hell'
The river that is not uncritical of politics
The politics of polluting Environment.
