Cry Of A Dying River...64
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
Have you heard of 'Banana Republic'
Yes you did and so is everyone
Have you been to "An Area of Darkness"
Yes you have been or at least some of you
Are you an inalienable part of "The Wonder That Was India"
Well it is your call and/or take
Do you know you are in the land of 'Non-Violence'
Where violence pays and rules the roost
The river whose eco-system has been violated to no end.
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that flows in a corner of the country
The land of SIX Cs
Corruption Commission Committee Cricket Coalition and Corporatisation
Have you heard of a famous Economist turned Diplomat who said
"Meetings are indispensable when you don't want to do anything "
The river that has been made leaderless by meetings meetings and meetings
This then is the ill-gotten fate of a river
In a corner of the land of Ashoka Budha and Gandhi
A country that takes pride in "a decision not to take a decision as a decision ".
