Cry Of A Dying River...44
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that flows in the land of 'KHADAANGS'
'Khadaangs' that are neither tired nor retired
'Khadaangs' that fire fussilade of 'promises'
'Khadaangs' that has nurtured the environment a thousand times
'Khadaangs' that has preserved the ecology an umpteen times
'Khadaangs' that has served Loktak to no end
'Khadaangs' that has cleansed rivers like no one else could
The river that becomes the first casualty of 'Sweet Khadaangs'
The 'Khadaangs' of the "Left", the "Right" and the "Centre".
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that loves democracy but hates kleptocracy
The river that likes politics but hates politicians
The river that loves mankind but hates men
The river that welcomes planning but loathes ill-conceived planning
The river that likes development but detests dam-mining-centric development
The river that serves but left un served
The river that has been undone by 'Sugary Khadaangs'
The river that wishes to be blind deaf and dumb
Oh Ibudhou Wangbren! Save me from these wanton 'KHADAANGS' of the land.
