Cry Of A Dying River...28
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that has been hearing for too long
The story of Loktak Hydro Electrical Project
How the Hill-Vale will be fully electrified
The river that has been aggrieved by the loss of agricultural lands
Those 'Louphams' that feed tens of thousands of hungry stomachs
The river whose heart bleeds for the 'Displaced Families'
Families that still wait for the PROMISED COMPENSATION
The river that cries for the vanishing flora and fauna
Oh Super-Duper!! thy name is LHEP.
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that has been fed for too long
The story of State/National/Transnational Projects/Funds
So 'dear Loktak' 'NUNGSHIBI LOKTAK' could be conserved preserved and saved
The river that bears testimony to a shrinking lake
A lake so magnanimous and selfless
Petty Contractors-turned-Politicians-turned-Contractors
Transforming into Billionaires and Trillionaires overnight
Ah 'Loktak enthusiasts and lovers'!! join the rat race
"SAVE LOKTAK" and FILL THY COFFER(S).
