Cry Of A Dying River...20
Rajendra Kshetri *
I am no longer the river I was once
The river that tells a tale of neglect and indifference
A tale of apathy and couldn't-care-less attitudes
A tale of utter disregard to the environmental needs
The river that gives a damn to
Campaigns Conferences Conclaves
Seminars Workshops Projects
All did everything but sensitise people
All went smiling all the way to the Banks
Where on earth was/is the love and concern for the rivers.
I am no longer the river I was once
Aren't there any angel(s) around
In this "little paradise on earth"
Who could/would appreciate
The importance of this 'life-support' riverine eco-system
The significance of this cradle of valley civilisation
The beauty of this sedative river
The tragedy of this indigenous river
Oh Mother Earth!!! Where are the romantics
To FEEL THE ROMANCE OF RIVERS! !!!
