World Meetei Council condemns the cowardly attack of the Chinkuki terrorists killing the SDPO of Moreh Chingtham Anand Kumar and later injuring three more police personnels who were on the way to Moreh. Once again they have again started violence by killing an unarmed police officer, after a month long relative peace. It is not a wonder that the Chinkuki CSOs who support these terrorists demand to remove state police from Moreh as if Moreh is a different state.
These ChinKuki CSOs deceptively try their best level to draw and mislead the attention of the world that they are the natives and Meetei are outsiders.
Fact is Moreh is inhabitated by indigenous communities such as Meeteis and different Naga tribes since history. Nagas were uprooted in 1990s by the migrant Chinkukis after infiltrating from Myanmar and dominating the areas.
Now, the question is why not the government of Manipur should deploy state forces in all parts of Manipur. Should the migrants be given the right to demand for removal of state forces ?
WMC draws the attention of the State Chief minister and the Union Home minister to the fact that Shri Amit Shahji had already stated in the parliament followed by the statements from Central intelligence agencies that it's the terrorists "who had come from across the border that is waging war against India".
So, what is stopping the centre from cracking down? The all-powerful Assam Rifles in and around Moreh, the border town of Manipur remain mute spectators till today! Does this mean they approve the acts? Therefore, the Crore Rupee question is - Why Assam Rifles behave this way?
The Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah under whom the Assam Rifles functions owes an explanation to the people of Manipur.
Also, we extend our deep sorrow and condolences to the bereaved family and also for injured cops!
