Civil organization protest against murder in Manipur

Normal vehicular movement on Imphal-Moreh section of NH-2 (former NH-39) was disturbed on Monday until the highway bandh itmposed by a local civil organization in connection with death of a lineman of the state electricity department was relaxed from 5 pm.
Chingtam Nupi Apunba Lup imposed the bandh on NH-2 demanding immediate booking of culprit(s) involved in the murder of 32 year-old Paokholet Haokip of Chandel’s Sita village and adequate compensation to the bereaved family.
Paokholet, who was working as a line-man on contract basis in state electricity department was found dead at the bank of Sekmai river near Pallel in Chandel district on June 4 last.
