Chiang Mai meet called off
Nagaland Post | K.V.Nurumi | Kohima, May 19 (NPN):
It was not clear as to whether the decision of the NSCN(I-M) not to attend the May 21 Chiangmai meeting had led to factors that have now virtually made it impossible to hold the meeting convened by the FNR.
“The scheduled meeting at Chiang Mai has been postponed because of certain unavoidable reasons,” a highly informed source told Nagaland Post late Saturday night.
Although the source did not specify what were the factors for the cancellation, there were speculations that issues relating to denial of passports to the leadership of the Naga groups could have been the major factor.
