The Centre has ruled out the demand of the Eastern Nagaland People's Organization (Enpo) for a 'Frontier Nagaland'.
The demand of the Enpo for the creation of a separate 'Frontier Nagaland' was thoroughly discussed in a meeting attended by Union home minister P Chidambaram, Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio and his cabinet ministers in New Delhi on Monday. The home minister ruled out their demand and instead offered to provide economic and development packages for the backward areas of Nagaland, which includes the four districts of Mon, Kiphire, Longleng and Tuensang.
