Call for North East chapter in NCERT syllabus

The North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) today decided to move Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in a bid to pressure the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to introduce a separate chapter on the region in the national school curriculum.
Neso chairperson Samujjal Bhattacharyya told The Telegraph that despite repeated demands, the council has been ignoring the issue. “This only shows that policy makers in New Delhi are either completely ignorant about the region or least bothered about it,” he said.
