Bridge
Parthajit Borah *
Let me pass out the
bridge where waiting my father.
Flickering smile of his face
brings me back to my childhood,
Where I everyday win his smile.
Let me assist to oversee the blue river
where I passed my childhood tokens.
Changing time chased my unconditional
longings once again.
I know how I have aloofed myself
from my father,
waiting beyond the bridge.
Relentless effort gets tired as I unreach my father.
Let me touch the bridge where I left
my imprints.
I owe over the weary night
I must reach my father before the eventide.
