Beeshantam Yumnam’s Books and Coffee where people recline enjoying books of their choice while having tea or coffee, was initiated in 2013 at Singjamei Yumnam Leikai.

In Books and Coffee, there is a book store alongside a cafeteria. This store is opened at Beeshantam Yumnam’s own house at Singjamei Yumnam Leikai. In the cafeteria, different varieties of tea and coffee are available. In addition, they served Chinese fast foods and varieties of snacks. The ambience is so cool and it is a perfect hang out.

Book covers of classic stories were painted at the windows. Books are given in discount and used books and other varieties of books are also available at the book store. Books of Art, Literature, Science, Photography, cook-book etc are available in this store.

Several art works of different artists including RK Joy, Satyabrata Hijam, Beeshantam Yumnam, Nongpokhenba Saikhom, Angom Seram, Chaoba Thiyam, Sapam Sweetie, and many more are displayed at the cafeteria and the book store.

Besides they hold painting classes every 2nd Saturday and Sunday tutored by Nongpokhenba. Beeshantam Yumnam is an artist himself and his artworks are also displayed at the bookstore and cafeteria. This store not only gives you the opportunity to buy books but also allows one to borrow books to read.

Books can be rented on a low cost for a day. This arrangement helps people, who love to read but could not earn properly, in a huge way.

Moreover, poetry, music, painting and other art forms much liked and appreciated by the youth is given a huge platform for presentation in Books and Coffee, a trend set by Mr. Beeshantam Yumnam. After its initiation like-minded youths have been holding sessions of open mic poetry, art exhibition and music presentations at the space provided by Beeshantam Yumnam.

In these sessions, youth of this state have been given the opportunity to present poetry, songs and paintings composed and painted by them. Young poets have initiated this place as a place of congregation for art lovers. These young friends have been trying to propagate and create a platform for art lovers by adding doses of music and painting into the world of literature.

The art sessions being held at Books and Coffee allows young and amateur art lovers to present their piece-poetry, music compositions and painting on a voluntary basis. People from different parts of the state, without anyone coaxing them to join, take part in these sessions.
